You can install VHB tape on tinted windows — as long as the tint is high-quality and fully cured. Most vehicle tints are applied to the interior side of the window, which is where you’ll be placing the metal tabs with VHB tape for inside window cover installation. While the VHB tape generally adheres well to tint films, results can vary depending on tint quality.

Important Notes:

• VHB may not bond as strongly to some tint films compared to bare glass.

• It may damage or lift a cheaper or aging tint when removed.

• Always clean the area with isopropyl alcohol before installation.

• If the windows were recently tinted: Wait at least 3–5 days after tinting to ensure the film has fully cured before applying VHB tape.

For best results: Allow the metal tabs to fully cure after installation:

• 50% bond strength in 20 minutes

• 90% in 24 hours

• Full strength in 72 hours

Also, please avoid removing or stressing the metal tabs during this curing period.
